UNAMHE was founded in 1993. Since around 2000, theassociation has been inactive but in June 2008 it was revived. The headquarters of the association shall be in the then the department In-Charge of Engineering (Health Infrastructure Division), Ministry of Health Uganda until otherwise dertermed by the council resolution.
