Welcome to UNAMHE
This association is non-political, non-governmental, non-religious and independent. It’s strictly a non-profit organisation, its resources being exclusively to foster the exchange of medical and hospital engineering technology with the ultimate goal that sick people in Uganda and else where in the world receive better health care.

Its sources of funds are membership fees,annual contributions and donations.

UNAMHE was founded in 1993. Since around 2000, the association has been inactive but in June 2008 it was revived.

The headquarters of the association shall be in the then the department In-Charge of Engineering (Health Infrastructure Division), Ministry of Health Uganda until otherwise determined by the council resolution. This is now located at wabigalo via industrial area at the end corner of 7th street is the road leading to HID offices.
Our Objectives
  1. UNAMHE seeks to promote among its members the development of science and safe practice of medical and hospital engineering.
  2. To promote more efficient operation, maintenance and safety of hospitals engineering installations, equipment and building.
  3. To promote the principle on integrated design and evaluation by improved collaboration between the professionals and user.
  4. To provide a better medium of exchange of information and compare personal,national and international experience through meetings, seminars and publications.
  5. To do all the things the council of the association may consider proper including advising government, public bodies and other organisations or individuals on matters concerning medical and hospital engineering.
  6. To do all other things incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objective or any of them.
Benefits to Members
These include:

  1. Being part of a forum for ensuring Continuing Professional Development CPD (Continuing Medical Education CME) through regular get-togethers in which topics of regular interest are discussed.
  2. Opportunities where members who are more experienced in certain specialties e.g imaging technology, critical care systems etc share knowledge with the rest.
  3. Participation in national, regional and international events at a a discount.
  4. Receiving relevant magazines and newsletters.

To do all other things incidental or conducive to attainment of the above objectives or any other.
